Happy New Year from York!
Our choristers today stared the new year by taking in the sights of York, including walks along the old Roman walls, and meanderings through the Shambles.
Evensong this evening was in the magnificent York Minster, which was universally acknowledged as everyone’s favourite so far.
We rehearsed in the Camera Cantorum before making our way down to rehearse in the Quire itself.
This evening’s service was the Howell’s Gloucester service and the Anthem was the Todd My Lord has Come.
We were made to feel very welcome by everyone in York, and were impressed by how friendly everyone was. It will certainly remain one of the highlights of the tour, even though we know there are many to come!
