Guest organist David Drury

We are so very fortunate to be accompanied on our forthcoming tour of England by one of Australia’s foremost organists, David Drury (Sydney). David will be in Adelaide on the weekend of 12-13 November for a choir workshop and not one but two Evensongs: 5pm Sat 12 Nov at Pilgrim, and 6pm Sun 13 Nov at St Peter’s Cathedral.

We asked David what the tour means for him:

‘After a pandemic alters our very existence, it is a poignant reminder of how music making reflects our very humanity and fragility. It is exciting, therefore, to be on the verge of a long awaited postponed tour with the lovely people in the Pilgrim Church Choir! This tour will be wonderful for our musicians to do what they love in such glorious settings as ancient cathedrals. Peter has programmed some of our favourite music and I am privileged to have set the Psalms for the Evensongs and include a couple of my own chants. Did I mention that I am excited?’

I’m not sure we mentioned that we are excited too? 😆 The photos are of David in action on our 2017-18 tour.
