Good Friday and Easter Sunday

Good Friday, 9:30am

Our Good Friday service features Bible readings re-telling the story of the Crucifixion interspersed with beautiful Passion music. This year we will be singing Lotti’s Crucifixus à 8, Croce’s O vos omnes, Byrd’s Ave verum corpus, and ‘Lovely tear of lovely eye’ by Bob Chilcott.

Easter Sunday, 11am

A joyous orchestral Mozart Mass is a long-standing tradition at Pilgrim on Easter Sunday. This year we’ll be singing Mozart’s Coronation Mass (K. 317) with orchestra, and soloists drawn from the choir. It is a slightly longer work than usual, with a larger orchestra including woodwind, brass and timpani. And if anything, it is even more vivacious, exuberant, and joy-filled than any of the other masses we have sung! We invite you to share in this wonderful music in celebration of Easter.
