The inaugural Adelaide Sacred Music Composition Prize in 2023 was a great success, with some wonderful pieces written by young Adelaide composers, and the Choirs of Pilgrim Church and St Peter’s Cathedral thoroughly enjoying the task of rehearsing and singing the finalists’ works in their services.
In 2025 the Choir of Pilgrim Church once again joins forces with the St Peter’s Cathedral Music Foundation to encourage the composition of new sacred music by Australian composers, with this unique opportunity for live performances of the first-prize-winning piece by the respective choirs – and this year also the Choir of Coventry Cathedral, UK.
