2026 International Organist Series: Christopher Trikilis, free recital

We launch our 2026 International Organist Series with a free lunchtime recital, 1pm Thursday 12 March. Christopher Trikilis is Director of Music at Brisbane’s Cathedral of St Stephen, and will be presenting a rich and varied program at Pilgrim Uniting Church, on South Australia’s largest pipe organ.

Chris’ recital kicks off another fantastic year of organ concerts at Pilgrim by Australian and international artists, including Martin Setchell (NZ), Holly Broadbent (Perth), Vincent Dubois (France), David Drury (Sydney), and Benjamin Sheen (UK).

Program:

Fanfare (Allegro non troppo): Jacques-Nicolas Lemmens (1823-1881)

Three Chorale Preludes on the ‘Passion Chorale’:
1. Herzlich tut mich verlangen BWV 727 (My heart is filled with longing): J.S. Bach (1685-1750)
2. Ach Herr, mich armen Sünder (O Lord, me a poor sinner!): Johann Kunhau (1660-1722)
3. Herzlich tut mich verlangen Op.122: Johannes Brahms (1833-1897)

All’offertorio: Domenico Zipoli 1688-1726

Pastourelle (for the organ): Fela Sowande (1905-1987)

Toccata: Wesley Jordan b.1946
